At Variety Ontario, we value the diverse experiences and contributions of each one of our members, staff, volunteers, and partners to the work that we do! We are proud to be part of a vibrant community which includes people from all walks of life including members of two-spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, and asexual (2SLGBTQQIA+) communities.
Pride Toronto is a not-for-profit organization with a mission to bring people together to celebrate the history, courage, and diversity of our community. Variety Village is proud to share Pride Toronto’s values of inclusivity and diversity in our own mission, vision, and values:
Inclusivity: Pride Toronto welcomes everyone and wants everyone to be welcomed. Pride Toronto is accessible to everyone as they create a sense of belonging and shared purpose.
Diversity: Pride Toronto celebrates the uniqueness of all voices while bringing people together as one community.
On Friday, May 31 at 2:45 pm, all are invited to join us in the parking lot for the 3rd annual Pride Flag Raising Ceremony! There will be short speeches by members of the Variety Ontario community, announcements about our Pride initiatives for the month of June. A reception will follow featuring cake, coffee, and a special Pride Month kick-off activity for all to participate in!
Our raising of the Pride Flag not only celebrates our own community – it represents our commitment to all 2SLGBTQQIA+ people to honour their history, hear their voices, and continually strive towards complete inclusivity and equity in all of our programs and services for persons of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions.
Join us Pride weekend!
Be sure to join us at Family Pride Day for activities, demonstrations and showcases of the great work that Variety Village does! There will be wheelchair basketball, arts and crafts, and lots of outdoor family fun as we celebrate with the Pride community.
