Never give up. And believe in your dreams. That’s Shayne Smith’s attitude toward anything he does. In the summer of 2006, he realized a dream as part of the Canadian junior wheelchair basketball team that travelled to Birmingham, England, for the world championships. In an article in the Canadian Jewish News, Shayne gave Variety a lot of credit for his achievements: “If it wasn’t for Variety Village, I wouldn’t even be playing basketball, let alone playing basketball for Team Canada.”
