Programs and Classes

Variety Village encourages and creates opportunities for active, healthy lifestyles for people of all abilities. We believe that when we are living healthy lifestyles our quality of life, including fitness, health and wellness, improves. Variety Village Athletic Club Teams

Variety Village is proud to be the home of several sport teams, all part of the Variety Village Athletic Club (VVAC). The VVAC gives children of all abilities the chance to be active, competitive and discover their potential. Learn more about our teams.

Variety - The Children's Charity

For more than 60 years, Variety-The Children’s Charity Ontario has worked with young people with disabilities and those who face developmental barriers to achieve their life potential. With our flagship project Variety Village, we are a world recognized authority providing integrated sports and life skills programs, applied research and learning programs that change children’s lives and strengthen communities.

We’ve achieved this reputation because of our ongoing work to better the lives of children and young people with disabilities. We are active in the greater Toronto area and across Ontario..

From our 76,000 square foot (or 7, 060 square metre) Fieldhouse, 200m indoor MONDO© track, 3 full basketball courts, rock climbing walls, state-of-the-art cardio room and weight room to our swimming pools, hot pool and full range of accessible equipment, we have something to fit everyone’s needs. Whether you’re a serious athlete or working on getting fit and staying healthy, you can do it at Variety Village in our welcoming, family-oriented, inclusive environment.

  • Programs for All Ages and Abilities
    Variety Village offers programs for all ages and abilities – from tots to seniors. Be sure to check out our unique programs and our Active Aging club.
  • Access to Free Programs
    Variety Village members enjoy free access to drop-in fitness classes including Aquafit, cardio and weight training classes, ZUMBA®, Chairfit and more! Parents – take advantage of Kids’ Zone – free drop-in classes for kids aged 2 to 12!
  • Member Referral Program
    As our thanks to you, members receive a free one month extension to their membership for every new, first time annual membership referral.
  • Personal Training & Physiotherapy Services
    Members’ additional services include access to personal training and physiotherapy services.
  • CPR/First Aid/AED Trained Staff
    Feel comfortable and confident working out in an environment that offers the added safety of fully CPR/First Aid/AED trained program staff.
  • Heart Wise Exercise
    Heart Wise Exercise Programs are intended for people who are living with or want to prevent a chronic health condition.

Heart Wise Exercise Programs are intended for people who are living with or want to prevent a chronic health condition. Look for the Heartwise logo to identify designated Heartwise Exercise Classes.

A Heart Wise Exercise Program meets the following criteria:

  1. Encourages regular, daily aerobic exercise.
  2. Encourages and incorporates warm up, cool down, and self-monitoring with all exercise sessions.
  3. Allows participants to exercise at a safe level and offers options to modify intensity.
  4. Includes participants with chronic health conditions – physician approval may be required.
  5. Offers health screening for all participants.
  6. Has a documented emergency plan that is known to all exercise leaders, including the requirement of current CPR certification, phone access to local paramedic services and presence of an AED.
