Wheelchair Basketball Team

The Variety Village Wheelchair Basketball Team has been providing inclusive and integrated wheelchair basketball opportunities since 1983, welcoming athletes of all abilities to learn, train, and compete in one of Canada's most exciting adaptive sports. Through experienced coaching and a supportive team environment, athletes develop fundamental basketball skills, teamwork, confidence, and leadership while progressing at their own pace. Whether athletes are new to the sport or preparing for higher levels of competition, the program follows the principles of Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) to help each player reach their full potential.

With opportunities to compete in local and regional leagues and tournaments, athletes gain valuable game experience while representing Variety Village on the court. The team's tradition of excellence has helped athletes advance to the highest levels of the sport, with Variety Village proudly supporting players who have gone on to represent Team Canada at the Paralympic Games since 1992.
